Blog Post #8: My Blogging Experience

Have you ever been assigned something in a class that you have never done, but the sound of it wasn’t so bad? Well, that’s exactly how I felt when we were assigned to make blog posts. I sort of knew what it was, but I wasn’t too sure whether or not I was right. I saw it as a lengthy caption that I would write for Instagram, it can also be seen as a twitter post. When writing my first blog, I was quite nervous because I didn’t think I was doing it correctly, but after writing several blogs, I realized there is no wrong way to write a blog. It got more natural the more posts I wrote. When it comes to writing peer comments, I didn’t really know how to start my comments. I was quite nervous when writing my peer comments because I didn’t think they made any sense. Do you ever go back and read your response, and it just doesn’t feel like it meets the professors expectations? Because that’s how I felt with every single one of the comments I wrote. Though I would manage to get a good grade on all my comments. Overall I would say writing blogs was a great experience. I really enjoyed reading other people’s view about the topic we were assigned. There were a few that had similar responses, but there were others that had very interesting responses. Writing blogs really helped me with other writing assignments. I really struggled with starting my writing assignment, but after writing blog posts it made it easier to just write what was on my mind. My favorite part would have been customizing my page. It was very fun being able to have a little part of ourselves To the assignment. The only negative thing I didn’t like was how restricted we were to fonts. I was hoping to add all sorts of cute fonts, but it just had basic fonts.

  1. Carla,

I can agree with your opinions about blogs. I also knew a little about blogs but I have never written any. The only “blogs” I have done are expressing opinions on tweets or captions like you mentioned. I was also very nervous when writing my first blog because I didn’t know what to expect or what to exactly do. After a while, I started getting the hang of blogs and started to open myself up more to them. Blogs are fun and also a really easy way to voice our opinions. I also enjoyed reading other blogs. This would give me an idea of their opinion and what they believe. Another fun thing about blogs was the customizing part! I really like how our Professor made this assignment feel like our own by letting us customize it and play around. Overall, I really enjoyed reading your blogs every week.

  2. Carla, I can agree with you on many things. I was also nervous at first when writing blog posts, but after a while, it got easier. I know how it feels to think you’re not doing an assignment correctly because I feel that way a lot of the time in some classes. Blog posts were my favorite part of the class and my experience was also pretty positive. Like you, I thought getting to hear about our classmates’ opinions was interesting. It gave us an opportunity to hear different points of view on issues. My favorite part about blogging was also getting to customize our blogs. It was fun to have something more personalized in the class. I enjoyed reading your blog posts this semester!
